The Micro To Macro Career Accelerator is designed to teach social workers and changemakers from other professions and degree majors how to identify, apply, and interview for their dream macro job in 3 months or less!
The Micro To Macro Career Accelerator™ is a group career coaching program for degree-holding (undergraduate & graduate) social workers and changemakers with at least two (2) years of paid work experience.
Who is interested in helping others by doing large-scale changemaking work.
What will I learn inside the accelerator?
The Micro To Macro Career Accelerator is a comprehensive group career coaching program designed to help you in the following five (5) areas:
- Area One: Career Clarity - The accelerator will help you get clarity about ways to use your degree to do large-scale changemaking work without needing a license or clinical background. And without having to be in case management/direct-practice-related positions where you see clients all day long.
This part of the accelerator is designed to help you get clear about the types of roles you want, the population & issue(s) you want to focus your work on, and creative ways to blend what you love into your career.
Let's be honest: you hate your case management or current macro social work job because it’s not what you love to do.
And, oh yeah...macro work is way more than just policy, grant writing, leadership, project management, political work, and advocacy.
Macro work takes place in companies like your favorite social media platforms, the NCAA, banking industries, beauty industries, fashion industries...and more!
You get the point! It's way more than what your professor told you.
- Area Two: Finding the Jobs You Want & Determining if You are Qualified to Apply - The accelerator will teach you how to determine if you are qualified to apply for the good-paying good-quality macro jobs you want.
This is a step you should take before investing in additional costly degrees, licenses, or certifications. That you most likely will never use.
Many social workers try to do this on their own and struggle because they have worked with many different populations in many different settings that either don't connect or pigeonhole them to just more case management jobs.
- Area Three: Job Application - The accelerator will teach you how to apply to the jobs you want by teaching you how to translate your social work experiences into a high-result-yielding macro resume that you will learn to write yourself in a 2-hour one-on-one resume intensive session with an expert.
A service that, when sold alone, costs $5,000.
Resume writing is critical to your macro social work job search because social workers struggle to identify their work experience that is valuable to macro employers.
Because if you still have "Managed caseload..." or "Conducted biopsychosocial exams..." bullets on your macro resume, you are doing it all wrong, and most likely, you are not getting interviews with macro employers on your own.
- Area Four: Interview Prep - The accelerator will teach you how to interview for the jobs you want to compete among the sea of other master's degree holders who are also interested in large-scale changemaking work.
This component of the program is critical to successfully landing macro social work jobs because macro interviews are nothing like the typical case management job interviews you are used to. And if you approach them that way...you will not get job offers.
- Area Five: Career Planning - The accelerator will teach you how to plan for the next job you want after you land your first macro social work job, as well as how to strategically start positioning yourself as an expert in the job market without the need for a network, volunteering, relocating to a large city, or taking a demotion to get experience...you know the typical things other social workers tell you to do to get a macro job.
The long-term goal of the accelerator is to teach social workers like you how to take charge of their careers and stop doing what every social worker around them is doing, to become proactive rather than reactive in their careers while increasing their confidence and marketability to get the jobs they really want doing work they really love!

How long is the accelerator?
The accelerator is three (3) months in length.
Our program promise is to teach you how to identify, apply, and interview for your dream macro social work job in 3 months or less!
Which means you will learn everything there is you need to know to get the macro jobs you want.
On average, accelerator participants who put in the necessary work start yielding results in career clarity and interviews anywhere between 30-45 days. *But please understand that you get out what you put in, and The MSW Coach does not make any guarantees of employment.
I think I would need more support than three (3) months. Is there another way to continue working with Marthea?
Yes. Once your three (3) months have ended inside the accelerator. For a monthly fee, you can opt to join our Macro and Paid Community for past program alums.
You won't have access to the accelerator curriculum. But you will have access to Marthea during a weekly coaching call to receive hot seat coaching and support while you implement & use the strategies and techniques you learned inside the accelerator.
The Macro and Paid Community is a place where past participants come together to receive support and build community as they work to land their first, second, and third macro social work jobs.
When do we meet for coaching?
We meet each Sunday for group coaching calls from 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM (ET). All calls are recorded and loaded into our learning portal 24-72 hours after each coaching call, where you will have 24/7 access to watch the replays.
How do I stay in contact with other participants in between calls?
All cohort participants are given access to our community platform to engage with other participants between calls.
How soon can I get help with my resume?
*Please note: This is not a quick-fix program or a done-for-you resume writing service if you are trying to leave your job immediately or are unemployed. Please consider your timeline carefully before signing up for the program. Conversations about resume writing do not begin until you have demonstrated mastery of the components 1 & 2 listed above.
What will I learn in the accelerator?
We cover macro job searching, macro resume writing, macro interviewing, career planning…and much more!
